  • One of the most well-known benefits of Melissa Essential Oil is its ability to treat cold sores, or herpes simplex virus, due to its antiviral and antimicrobial properties. Melissa Oil can penetrate the skin layer and treat the herpes virus directly.
    If you don't have Melissa Oil on hand, Tea Tree oil or Clove Bud oil would be excellent substitutes.

    How to use Lemon Balm Oil for cold sores: Dilute Lemon Balm Essential Oil with a carrier oil and apply it to the cold sore with a cotton swab three or four times daily for best results.
